Ollama released version 0.40.3 on October 11. The patch temporarily pauses background model upgrades after maintainers identified per-request overhead and garbage-collection pressure in high-volume workloads, including embeddings.
It also removes the Claude-connectors warning from ollama launch claude and the service-tier warning from ollama launch codex. This is a maintenance release; the notes do not announce new models or quantify a performance gain. See the official release notes and migration change.
