Perplexity

Perplexity organizes research around search, answers, and source links. Use those links to check the underlying evidence rather than treating an answer's confident wording as verification.

THE QUICK PICTURE

What is Perplexity?

An AI search and research service with linked source material.

What you can do

  • AI search
  • Research workflows
  • File analysis

Good for

  • Discovering source material for a research question.
  • Creating a first outline of claims to investigate.
  • Comparing evidence after opening the original linked pages.

What to keep in mind

  • A citation may not support every claim placed beside it.
  • Search and file allowances depend on the plan.
  • A linked answer still needs checking for date, scope, and source quality.
TAKE THE FIRST STEP

Getting started

  1. Ask one specific question, including the relevant region and time period.
  2. Open the original sources behind claims that affect your decision.
  3. Keep a short evidence note and follow up on contradictions or missing information.
